Apolitical Lyrics:

Verse 1:

I'm apolitical.  In a world of wild illusions I hide intrusions and take the cake to derive  improvement.

Pursuement, to what must be getting on. I sing the song, and ring the gong, and find a way to get along.

The sun's setting then it's dawn forget the darkest night. we were Dreamworld plunges to a haunting fright.

But that fear, angst and loneliness ain't only in our dreams. it comes from the core and oozes out right from the seams.

I'm apolitical. in a time when Up Is Down and the 1% are running every side of town.

I can see how the left is right and the fight that awaits. I've got capacity but just can't seem to put it in place.

Chorus:

I'm apolitical yeah but I'm political eh
Apolitical.  yeah but I've got something to say.

About the people in poverty, poetry, power, and production.

I'm political but that fire is blocked from eruption.

Apolitical yeah but I'm political eh
Apolitical.  yeah but I've got something to say.

About the people in poverty, poetry, power, and production.

I'm political but that fire is blocked from eruption.

Verse 2:

We need a revolution it is plain to see. there can't be Evolution under corporate weeds.

Yeah that's what MLK said before the feds made him bleed and turned him to a shining star of the American dream.

Even scarier seems to be the NDP’s handling of Anjali. Or the anti-Dems with Bernie.

Painfully, it's not as simple as just winning a vote. and at the top of the ladder that airs so thin you just might choke.

Yet it's one hell of a joke and because I'm inactive in action all it does is just stoke.

The fire of my anxiety, nightwalkers on the way.

Verse 3:

The forest lay ablaze, blamed on environmental arsonists.

Irony twist the truth twirling like a top on a list. so dizzy and Confused

Perusing misdirection with desire to use up. the rest of the west but keep you blind to the fact.

fracked up and acting in extractivist tact. yeah that's Alberta with the Tar Sands.

BC LNG, Ferry Creek. oil lobby filing their teeth.

To suck out what remains yeah it pains me to frame it this way 1200 arrests can't keep the saw blades at bay.

But they can't tear out our heart or rip the heart out from our taste. we've got capacity but just can't seem to put it in place.
